Allow Nate Lanxon to take you on a whistle-stop tour of the fifth-generation Apple iPod nano in this video review. It's the best nano yet, leaving intact the spot-on functionality of previous models, while packing in a slightly larger screen, video camera and FM radio, among other new features. It's not perfect though, and owners of the previous version will have little reason to upgrade.

In this video review, Donald Bell of CNET UK sister site CNET.com examines Cowon's D2+ touchscreen MP3 player, the successor to the iAudio D2, released in 2007. There's no doubt that the D2+ is a great device, offering a long battery life, a plethora of useful features and outstanding sound quality, thanks to a number of audio-enhancement settings. But Cowon really could have made a more radical redesign of the D2 in the two years since its release.

In this video review, Donald Bell of CNET UK sister site CNET.com takes a look at Apple's third-generation iPod shuffle, the smallest MP3 player currently available and the only iPod that tells you what song you're playing. The size of the shuffle has been halved from the previous generation, with the controls now living in the headphone cable. This iPod won't be for everyone, however -- to achieve the small size, sacrifices have been made elsewhere.

In this video, Nate Lanxon takes a look at the the Cowon S9, which boasts a sensitive touchscreen, great features and excellent sound quality. Despite a lack of AAC support and an average user interface, it's the company's best MP3 player to date, although it's not as great a threat to the iPod touch as Cowon might like.

Sony's Walkman NWZ-W202 is a wearable, cordless MP3 player that clips into the ears and loops behind the neck. With 2GB of memory, the player's Zappin feature cycles through song clips until the user hears the one they want. Available in the US in spring for around $70 (£45), UK availability and pricing is yet to be announced.

The Arcam Solo Mini is ideal for people who need a good-quality all-in-one sound system that's compact and not too expensive. In this video review we look at features such as the Mini's integrated stereo amp, which packs 25W of oomph per channel, plays MP3s and unprotected WMAs from CD-Rs and USB sticks, and the DAB radio that accompanies the FM/AM tuner. If a better combination of value for money and performance exists, we've never seen it, so look at our video and see what you think.

It's the iPod nano a lot of people have been waiting for: tall and skinny design, but a big fat screen for watching video. It'll play MP3s, AAC files, WAV and the Big Daddy: Apple Lossless. Like the iPhone and iPod touch, the new nano has a built-in accelerometer, so the nano knows which way up it's being held. When you're looking at photos, just tilt the player on its side and the photo rotates to fit the screen. Watch our video review for more.

Apple's iPod touch was a ground-breaking iPod when it first came out. Now, it's got some of the updates given to this year's 3G iPod, making it more attractive still. One of the biggest additions is the app store, which gives you access to hundreds of free and paid-for applications. Naturally, you've still got full access to the Internet with the Safari browser over Wi-Fi. Shoved somewhere on the inside are some tiny little speakers and volume controls are on the side too. Watch our video review for more.

Steve Jobs announced in his recent keynote that the 160GB iPod classic was being discontinued and replaced with this 120GB version, which gets the once-over in our video review. What you lose in capacity, you gain in slimness, and there's support for the new Genius playlist tool. You can also make recordings, providing you have the right set of headphones.
