No one would call Rory a small man, but even he's dwarfed by the monstrous Alienware Area-51 ALX desktop gaming PC in this video. It truly is the mothership -- the fastest PC we've ever seen. It's impossible not to be in awe of the Area-51's ludicrous chassis. With enormous vents on the top that lift up when its silicon heart starts pumping, and customisable lights everywhere (even inside), it makes a massive statement.

Rory Reid gets physical with Dell's Studio One 19 in this video review. Offering decent performance and an optional touchscreen, it's one of the better all-in-one PCs out there. It won't dethrone Apple's iMac, since it looks odd and its 3D performance is fairly average, but it will suit those seeking a desktop machine that is easy to set up and occupies relatively little space.

Rory Reid gets down and dirty with the Acer AspireRevo R3600 nettop in this video review. Ditching the commonplace and ageing Intel D945G chipset in favour of an Nvidia ION model, it's capable of playing games, running 1080p movies and being taken seriously as a media centre. Also boasting a cool design, it's currently the best nettop on the market.

In this video review, Rory Reid gets his hands on the Shuttle X Vision X50. This 15.6-inch, all-in-one desktop PC is an interesting concept that boasts decent performance, good connectivity and a fairly attractive design. Unfortunately, it's severely hampered by an unresponsive touchscreen that makes double-clicking a nightmare. Only buy this machine if hammering a display in frustration is your idea of a good time

In this video, Rich Brown of CNET UK sister site CNET.com takes a look at Apple's updated 24-inch iMac all-in-one. Most of the updates are on the inside of the machine, resulting in a good overall performer that will suit those looking for a straightforward desktop computer in an elegant package.

All-in-one PCs tend to be a bit rubbish, but not the HP TouchSmart IQ500. This one looks much better than its predecessor and has a lovely 22-inch screen that's touch-sensitive. HP has included a special menu system to make it easier to use Windows Vista with your fingers. Add an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and you've got a neat package. But is it any good for the kitchen, as HP suggests? Watch our video review to find out.

The Nova Lite isn't a particularly fast machine, but it's well designed and entirely suitable for purpose. If you're looking for a quiet, attractive Media Center, it might just fit the bill

The iMac is still the best all-in-one desktop on the market. We love the physical design of the system, and the new components on the inside make it very quick. Our only real gripe is the fact it's difficult to upgrade after purchasing, and upgrading at the point of purchase will cost you an arm and a leg

The XPS 420 is fast, well-equipped and looks gorgeous. It's also the first desktop we've seen with a SideShow display. Don't be fooled though -- many of its features are ultimately just gimmicks

Whichever way you look at it, the HP Pavilion Elite m9000 series (m9065.uk-a) is a good PC. Better value can be had elsewhere, but its quad-core CPU, ample memory and thoughtful design helps it stand out from the crowd
