As PR stunts go, it was one of the more unusual we've come across. But Gail Porter turned up in the back of a London taxi to give our very own Rory Reid a tech quiz to promote the slim line Dell Adamo laptop. The results are deeply odd. You have been warned.

In this video, we decided to pit an iPhone against a netbook to see which is the true king of mobile productivity. Our challenge was simple: hop into the passenger seat of a £1m rally car alongside 14-time European Rallycross champion Kenneth Hansen, hurtle around Lydden race track in Dover, and attempt to type, 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog' on to each device. Why? Because we can.

In this video, reformed burglar Mike Fraser gives us his verdict on Logitech's Digital Video Security System. This system alerts you via text or email when cameras in your home detect movement. You can then log on to the Internet to watch everything you hold dear being stolen in real-time. It's a fairly expensive system but it's easy to set up -- all the components are powered and networked via AC plugs.

Having been teased by its tactile wonder at US trade shows for yonks, we were delighted that Microsoft Surface has finally arrived in the UK. We thought we'd pop along to theofficial launch event -- cameras in hand -- to give it a thorough hands-on. Various companies were in attendance, all eager to show how the table of the future would benefit the average Joe. In this clip, we go hands-on with offerings from Barclays, Tesco, Carphone Warehouse and Emirates. But is it as revolutionary as they're all claiming? Watch our video and decide for yourself.

We recently went for dinner at Inamo restaurant in London, where interactive touch-sensitive tables take your order. Each table has an overhead projector and a mouse trackpad, so your dining surface is effectively a PC monitor. You can customise your 'tablecloth', play a videogame against your companion and order a taxi to get you home. When you've ordered, you can even see a live webcam feed of your chef at work. Watch our video for more.

Rockabilly biking legend and one-time Hell's Angel (he was kicked out for being too rough) Rory Reid dons his leathers and hits the highway on a... wait, this can't be right? An electric scooter? With a top speed of 30mph? In this video, he does his best to get excited about a mode of transport that struggles with hills. That said, it's a really cheap and eco-friendly way of getting around. Just don't get angry when your Nan overtakes you on her mobility scooter.

You might have heard about Nokia's new Comes With Music service, which gives you unlimited music downloads for a year when you buy a new Nokia phone. Sounds good, right? Sure, but there are some drawbacks you should consider before you plunk down your cold, hard cash. In this video, Rory Reid talks to our digital music editor, Nate Lanxon, for the full lowdown.

Lesley Stahl of US news show 60 minutes takes a look at a couple of the more unusual electric cars under development in the Staes today. First up is the Fisker Karma, a hybrid car with extra eco-friendliness: a solar panel on the roof. Like the new Toyota Prius and the Lotus Eco Elise we saw recently, the panel is designed to power systems such as the air conditioning and the CD player rather than the engine itself. Finally, the Aptera's odd shape is an attempt to make the car more aerodynamic, decreasing the energy consumption and extending its range.
